A Note from the Melbourne - Palm Bay Chamber Board Chairman
Joel Boyd, Boyd & Marks, L.L.C
In recent years, the Chamber has substantially enhanced the value of its membership by creating new special interest/affinity groups such as geographically located councils in Suntree/Viera, the Beaches, Palm Bay, and West Melbourne (in partnership with the West Melbourne Business Association.) Other specialty councils include the Multicultural Council and the Women's Business Council.
The Board of Directors' adoption of the formation of Chamber 2040 as a permanent committee followed culmination of a year of hard work, evaluation, and recommendations by a steering committee comprised solely of younger Chamber members. Their leadership and vision during the process were responsible for creating this exciting new committee.
In addition to serving the special needs and interests of younger Chamber members, Chamber 2040 represents a bold "succession planning" initiative that will immediately integrate its members into the Chamber's program of work and also provide a solid framework for future Chamber leadership.
Chamber 2040 - go for it!!
